Out Patient Department

Highfield has a busy out-patients department taking referrals from GP's and Consultants, mainly, but not exclusively, in the Dublin area.

Patients suffering from a wide range of psychiatric disorders (except alcohol and drug dependence) are seen, not only age related (>60 years) but also in the adult group. There are two full-time Psychiatrists who see out-patients from Monday-Thursday afternoons.

Research

Our hospital group is committed to ongoing research in the field of Psychiatry of Old Age. Research is often multi-centred and our units have often been involved.

Our particular areas of interest are in Dementia and late life Depression.
